High, cloud-tossed skies and a seemingly endless sea of sage-colored foliage sweep off to the far horizon at Black Kettle National Grasslands, a protected, lake-dotted region popular with outdoors enthusiasts, wandering cattle and photographers.
One hundred and fifty years of ranching (indeed, from 1780 to 1930) are preserved and celebrated in this historical park. Thirty-eight authentic (and often very old) ranch buildings have been moved to this site, all fully explorable and all re-furnished.
