 Getting There

  Joplin is located in the southwestern corner of Missouri. It is 168 miles south of Kansas City and 290 miles southwest of St. Louis. It is accessible via Interstate 44 and U.S. Highway 71. Car rentals are available are available at the airport as well as within Joplin. Car rentals are affordable and are a great method of transportation for seeing Joplin and the surrounding area.

  Joplin Regional Airport is owned by Joplin City and serves the many different aviation needs of the area. While flights to Joplin Regional Airport are limited and are mostly used for general aviation, there are flights offered by one major airline which provides flights to major cities such as Dallas, Atlanta, New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. Other options include the Springfield/Branson Regional Airport located in Springfield, approximately 75 miles northeast of Joplin. The airport is served by six airlines that provide non-stop flights from large cities such as Atlanta, Las Vegas, Chicago, Orlando, and more. The Kansas City International Airport is the nearest major airport and is located approximately 165 miles north on U.S. Highway 71.
